Finale of Beautiful Chaos
When I first left off on my other blog, I was almost to the climax of the book. The world was falling into chaos. The human world thought the end times had come, and the caster world had many of their powers misfiring and wrecking havoc on the mortal world. Will the world come to an end or will some hero come in and save the day?
As the world falls and crumbles around Ethan and Lena the main characters, they research a way to try and save everything they know and love. But Amma, the mother-figure in Ethan's life, has other plans for them. She decides to take fate in her own hands and goes to see a voodoo man to see if she can change the fate of Ethan and the world. Ethan followed her to see what she was doing, but what he saw made him change his mind of staying. Amma had made a deal that would have grave consequences.
Even though Ethan knew what Amma had done, he went on with life and never spoke of it with anyone. Ethan was very curios on what the fate of the world was and what price Amma had paid to change it. As soon as everything seemed to go back to as normal as normal could be with the world ending, the Lilium visited Ethan. The Lilium is a creature of the underworld, who is neither Dark nor Light, but part of the balance of the world. She told Ethan the fate in a poem that he would have to decipher. She said that one who is two shall have to make the sacrifice for the new order to be forged. For a while Ethan tried to think of who that could be. It just didn't add up. Lina thought that it could be John Breed who is half Caster and half Incubus. But when he was finally ready to sacrifice himself, the Lilium said it wasn't him. It was Ethan, because a few years ago Ethan had died and Lina had brought him back to life. As it turns out, Ethan left a part of his soul back in the underworld and was living with the other half on earth.
Ethan was going to have to sacrifice himself to bring order back to the world and not cause it to go into ruin. But this also means that he was going to have to die and leave behind all of his family and most of all Lena, his one true love. He ultimately decides to sacrifice himself and leave everyone behind to save them. As he was about to do the deed, we find out that Amma knew that it was Ethan the entire time and was trying to save him from this fate. But it was already to late and the price that the voodoo man had called for was not paid for in full. So the book ends with Ethan dead and Lena alone. In the next book, we will have to find out if his sacrifice was good enough and if the world falls back into it's natural order. We will see if Lena can make the Beautiful Redemption.
